I booked Abinger guest house for an overnight stay as my son and I had travelled to Leicester to watch a football match at the king power stadium, on arrival the guy showing us to our room was very welcoming which was nice, we had an issue with the TV no working but after a quick efficient call to the owner this was resolved very quickly and he even talked me around the local area, I.E. good places to eat and best ways to go to get to the town centre & stadium. overall great value for money if you are looking for an overnight stay in Leicester that's within 15 min walk to the town and the King power stadium, if I ever need an overnight stay in Leicester again I will definitely go back to the Abinger guest house.

Mostly, it was fine. But the instruction booklet for the TV zapper was not left out where it could easily be found, & it was not the right booklet for that zapper.The light in the shower works on a movement censor. It took me a minute or two to work that out. I realise that a movement censor may be greener than the alternative, but a wee notice giving notice would help.

I have now been on 3 separate occasions. Never had a problem getting parked close by, and never a problem using shared toilet or shower - the rooms I've stayed in it looks like you only share with one other room so much better ratio than many places. Easy check in and check out, best recommendation I can give is that I'll no doubt be back again!

I was looking for a cheap room for the night following attending a gig in Leicester. I knew the location as I used to live nearby, so was happy to book this hotel. It proved to be exceptional value for money. Check in was easy, the room was easily accessible, spotlessly clean, the facilities in the room were excellent, the beds were nicely spaced out and comfortable, and I would happily book here again if staying in the city.

The owner was very welcoming. Excellent communication before arriving & upon arrival.The facilities were as described. The beds were very comfortable & shower facilities easy to use.The only misleading thing was about breakfast, but Tesco is within a second walk.If I have to criticise one thing, would be the carpet, which probably wasn’t quite as clean as I’d have liked it, but for one night, I wasn’t fussed.All in all, I’d be happy to stay there again.

My room had good heating, good access to Wifi and a sink. It was also easy to access city centre by foot and find parking.The owner was also very friendly.

I spoke to two members of staff. Both were friendly & helpful.I wished my room was a little warmer - tho, to be fair, I never askedanyone to adjust the heat.At home, I do not have the kind of TV that was in my room. Once I got stuck with the controls & had to ask for help. Perhaps an instruction card could be left in the room.

Me and a mate were just looking for somewhere to stay for a couple of nights so we could go out clubbing with other mates. Being students, the reasonable price and decent location appealed to us - we didn't need anything fancy. However, the room had nice beds with thick comfortable mattresses, lots of storage, a large HD TV for if guests want a night-in, and clean toilet and shower facilities. The pictures initially appealed to us but staying there was a pleasant surprise - especially with local travel lodges charging more and offering much less. This would absolutely be ideal for families for short to medium stays also as the owner is very polite and makes sure that guests are always comfortable and that their needs are met. Nothing negative to say about this place.

Long walk to the city centre but over all it was quiet, comfy bed, clean, warm, no tea, coffee or milk in the room. Wifi password didnt work. No one there on our arrival which was different, communication with the owner was great

I visited with a friend who flew in for Italy for one night. We watched a Leicester city game and stayed in the guest house that night. Clean room. Relaxed atmosphere. Simple and everything provided for a simple night. Recommend for anyone.

Highly recommended, very clean and quiet, friendly and helpful staff, would stay again and only a10 minute walk to the city center. All in all a great place to stay.

This was a return visit to Abinger Guest House - and I felt as welcomed and supported as when I came the first time.As a Senior, I really appreciate the 'human face' aspects of Abinger, and a real endeavour to ensure that visitor-needs are met. Equally, I admire some of the Technology touches - and found that they were manageable, even though I'm not at all Techie. Who cares if bits of paint are missing!Things WORK, and work well!I would just advise that there are quite a lot of stairs [I was grateful for help] and shared bathrooms.Thank you, Abinger, for another helpful stay!

I had to go to Leicester for three days on course. I had work to do after hours. The guest house was perfect. It was so quite like I was the only guest there although I know I wasn't. The room was great, the bed huge and comfy and best of all it was so clean. Parking on the road outside was no issue at all. I will definitely stay there again.

A very friendly, pleasant bed and breakfast.Room was very nice, everything we needed was in there.Breakfast was lovely and it was nice to sit up at the table with other guests, while the owner cooked it nice and fresh, he also was very pleasant to talk to.

Clean and tidy with a great breakfast.

The room was very clean, as was the bathroom (which in this case was ”en-suite” as in “slightly down a locked-off section of the hall”). Strong smell of bleach from the bathroom indicated it was rather thoroughly sanitized. Room we stayed in is small but comfortable and faces the back, so there wasn’t much noise, an occasional shout from a neighbor ending at a reasonable hour. Other than not having much room or places to put luggage, while car parking is free, it's on the street, so that's a bit of a misnomer. Owner doesn't live on-site but comes in for opening and breakfast, and is friendly and helpful. Wifi very strong — router is at the head of the bed! Good breakfast. Close to city center and Richard III, etc.

Really enjoyed my 1 day stop over at Abinger. The room was very spacious, clean, & had a dam nice large screen tv to watch The Simpsons on.Bob is great to have a chat with, & his anecdotal stories, entertain, the man has been around & done stuff.Bob, I'm tappin' this out in having slept in my car for the 2nd night running, (cheaper, but oh so not as comfortable) on Daymar Bay beach.Hoping 2cu again. Je hoeft geen luxe te verwachten . Waren hier voor 1 nacht. Het doet wat het hoort te doen. s'Avonds vermoeid aankomen en s'morgens uitgerust kunnen vertrekken. Geen lawaai ,goeie bedden.kamers en douches waren proper.

We were really surprised and pleased with our stay. Lots of communication from the owner Bob and the rooms were spacious and clean. Parking is really easy and plentiful on the road and the location is great, about 5mins in the car from the centre.There are sinks in the rooms and the beds are very comfortable.We will definitely be back :-)

I chose Abinger Guest House for the location as I was up in Leicester for my son's graduation and my son lives a few doors away. I booked an en-suite and both room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. Bob (the owner) couldn't have been more helpful, great personality with a very dry sense of humour!Breakfast was absolutely delicious - for £3 an absolute bargain! Nice to sit and chat to others around the table, it was a really friendly experience. Bob even went the extra mile by dropping me off down the road to the ceremony as I was running late and it had started raining. I will definitely be booking again next time I'm in Leicester - excellent stay, thank you Bob :-)

I've stayed at the abinger guest house twice, both times the rooms have been lovely and clean and I've been really well looked after by Bob the manager. I was a bit anxious about shared bathrooms, but the showers are amazing, they've always been clean and I never had to wait for one to be free. Would definitely stay again.

Access was straightforward just ring the bell or phone. Instructions are on the door The proprietor is very friendly and helpful. Everywhere is spotlessly clean. Room 7 and 8 on top floor share a shower and separate toilet and sink. Also there is a sink in room.Give it a go, you will be glad you did.

Stayed here recently whilst watching my beloved team play Leicester. The guest house is what is and makes no qualms about it. Room was clean, tidy and served a purpose. IN fact was a lot better than the money we paid for it! Huge TV on wall was unusual for these places, bed was comfy and noise minimal. Shared bathroom facilities wasn't any drama either. Host was a real nice guy and enjoyed bit of banter and using his local knowledge. Would defog come back. Cheers fella!

Abinger Guest House is really an excellent and stylish place to stay at, particularly due to the caring and personal service provided, cosy atmosphere, with the amenities striking the right ballance between the modern and the traditional. Great location, as the most prominent places in Leicester are all within reach.

What can I say, I felt like being home. Nice breakfast, the room was big and clean and as requested by us with three beds. We were for the Rugby World Cup in Leicester and were photographed by the Leicester Mercury the local Newspaper and Bob was able to get the pictures for us. Should I visit Leicester again, I will surely book my stay at the Abinger Guest House.
